Augen zu und durch...

Hallo,

*hihi*
... there's a saying about too much of anything not being good at all... Well, we had a little discussion going on whether packing all the actual photos in just one post (and taking the risk that blogger might explode *grin*) or if we should do 2 posts this week... or if we should better save some for next week... In the end Birgit has decided we should make one giant post today. At May 13 our blog turns six years old now - that would be a good reason for making a huge post... and Rosey and I agreed to this. And what's more the photos showing spring in our region are of course actual here and now... so maybe you should get yourself a cup of coffee or tea to be prepared for the following picture flood. Let's hope blogger can cope with all of this... *teehee*

We would like to start with a belated greeting to all Moms around the world who had their special day last Sunday - these are for you:

It's a big relief for me that Birgit is no fan of Mother's Day... this is in fact the only day in the year when she would never give a gift to her mother - which means vice versa that there's no need for me to give a gift to my Birgit... *giggle* Birgit says she appreciates it much more that I'm helping her for example every month with her calendars... yes, a gentlebear like me knows for sure how to delight his Mom's heart... *grin* But on we go... Birgit was on tour this week and brought some pictures home showing spring in Schleswig-Holstein, the most northerly state of Germany which is surrounded from Seas with the North Sea at the left and the Baltic Sea at the right...

Wasser, so weit das Auge reicht...
Water...as far as the eyes can see...

... and seagulls... but why is there a duck in this picture??? Very simple... both the duck and the seagull are at home there... because we're not at the Baltic Sea but at the Great Lake of Plön... being a member in the Top Ten of the biggest lakes of Germany. There are perfect conditions for long walks...

... whether at the lake's shore or in the city.

At the left the St. Nicolai Church and in the background (hidden from trees) Plön Castle, nowadays home of the Fielmann Academy, a training centre for optometry. And isn't this house facade just beautiful?

Now in spring nature is almost exploding and spoiling us with endless variations of green... which look even better combined with a nice weather sky just like the one we are able to enjoy at the moment. But here in Northern Germany there's another color which belongs to spring - yellow!

Yes, the rape is in full bloom now and that's always a fantastic sight. Very typical for our landscapes are also alleys of trees...

And one of these trees at the side of the road is somehow a celebrity...

... da können bequem zwei Erwachsene drin stehen. Obwohl... schaut mal genau hin... *schmunzel*
... two adults can comfortably stand there inside. Nevertheless... just have a closer look... Birgit says there is already a pair standing inside of this hollow tree. *smile*

*lach*
And this lovely blooming tree is of course not situated anywhere but stands in our garden... but what am I supposed to tell you... even the loveliest blooming tree gets even lovelier with a BiWuBeary being included... *LOL*

But although our garden is a great place to stay in these days Birgit was on a trip to Lübeck... and brought some more pictures home with her.

And of course some eyecatchers... with doves...

... und mit Marionetten.
... and with puppets.

Somehow a nice window decoration, isn't it? *smile* And only a little later Birgit fell in love at first sight... right here:

No, this has nothing to do with the guy in the blue shirt... of course I'm talking about him!

*lach*
Original saying by Birgit: "There's never a ladder at hand when you're in need of one!" *LOL*

But this is not yet the end of today's flood of pictures... we still have some more to show... because there's still the unanswered question what was inside the surprise package we have received lately... and who has been the one so kindly thinking of us. Let's have a look... here's one more time the package... only a little later I've proved once more that I am for sure the champion of opening packages in the beary class up to 10 cm...

Und was da alles zum Vorschein kam... jede Menge Schätze... liebevoll eingepackt!
And what we have found inside... so many treasures... all being wrapped with care!

And almost everything was handmade... but not this bat... this was bought indeed because our friend... let's just call her Madame X for now... she thought this might find a new home at Gertie's.

*grins*
And one more gift wasn't handmade... but you can never be wrong when giving a mug to us as a gift... *LOL* And as you can see Rosey and I still know very well how to climb into a coffee cup... *grin*

And this mug also gives a hint about the identity of Madame X... motifs by Rien Poortvliet... with the language matching to this. And although we are not able to talk in this language it is very close to German so we were able to understand "Egeltje" without the help of a translator. And there were even "Egeltjes" to be found in the package...

Our friend (whose identity might be less mysterious by now) was clever enough to make two hedgehogs for us... Otherwise it might have become difficult because the house rule "If it's red and/or with strawberries it does belong to Fluby - if it's pink and/or a flower it belongs to Rosey" would not have helped at all... *giggle* And also with the next gift the house rule was no help at all... see, this beautiful rose is without any doubt red!

But okay... I am a gentlebear... I am the generous type... and besides Birgit has decided this exceptional stunning rose should belong to Rosey... *grunt* Luckily with the next fantastic miniatures there could be no doubt to whom they were dedicated:

What a gorgeous pumpkin... somehow a pumkin with brains... The stunning skull is supposed to become a cookie jar for Gertie Gumthrop... and all of us are curious how Nevermore will get along with the new witchy kitty. But that was not all yet being given to us from our dear friend. This magical plant was also in the package:

Pictures don't to justice to this piece of art... for example the purple leaves are transparent and are showing perfect veines - and of course there's still someone waiting to be discovered:

Isn't this a true burner??? Incredibly beautiful, this dragon plant... and I bet in the meantime all of you know who was the one so kindly thinking of us and spoiling us with all these treasures... Sure, Madame X is noone else but Ilona - who wanted to give an all-in-one-gift to us because she couldn't make it for Christmas and because she was one of the winners of our corner project and for some more good reasons - in short: Ilona just wanted to spoil us rotten with her wonderful miniatures! Btw - Birgit was not forgotten... one piece in the package was for sure dedicated to Birgit carrying her name on it... this one:

Sure... this beautiful card with a motif by Marjolein Bastin was meant for Birgit... so she too got her share of these treasures... *teehee* And all of us say together now:

Thank you sooooooooo much, dearest Ilona!!! You've sent us not only the most awesome miniatures but also joy and happiness and the gift of friendship!

Geburtstag, lieber Blog! ;O)
Well, and now we're going to try if we are able to upload this huge post at all... *grin* To all of  you who made it until the end of this post we would like to thank you very much - without you this blog wouldn't be what it is... Happy 6th Birthday to you, dear blog! ;O)

Liebe Grüße / Hugs
Flutterby

Ulrike

Happy Blog anniversary!!
Oh, the ducks over here like to swim in Baltic Sea. So for me it was not a surprise you took a photo of seagul and a duck together. Well, the surprise was of course when I read it was taken by the lake. :)
Yes, yellow is the colour of our fields too, guess I once posted photos of yellow fields on my blog a few years ago. :) And your architecture is great. And your flowers! Fantastic!! The bathtube for the beary siblings is quite something, teehee.
I do like narrow streets of Lubeck and the dragon too!
Ilona's works are fab! Lucky you!! Enjoy them all. :)
Hugs and kisses from Lady A.(waiting for the cooler days) Peevee and me!

Congratulations on your 6th!! year Anniversary, oh my, where has the time gone to??? I hope we can enjoy reading your blog for many more years, because I can't miss the adventures of the bears and your humor, of course. Your stories makes me often laugh and they brighten my days, Birgit! And moreover: without your blog I would never have 'met' you and you were the one, who helped me at the start. I didn't understand some things of blogspot and how to handle it all. So, once more: thanks for being my blog friend, Birigt :D!
Your pictures are, as usual, all wonderful, you live in a very beautiful region of Germany, oh, how I wish I could ever see it with my own eyes ;)!
And again: your garden is a feast for the eyes, every season there are the most wonderful pictures, with or without bears ;o!! I loved to see your discovery of the sign with that beautiful dragon, to be honest I didn't see immediately too......because I was distracted too, by the guy in blue LOL :D!!
I'm so happy that my gifts arrived undamaged, cause it was so tricky to sent them to you, but fortunately they survived well the trip. I hope you all will enjoy it.
Liebe Grüsse, Schepje und Ilona

Oohhh La La! What a Wonderful Post! (I am so glad Blogger didn't object to the Upload! LOL!) Congratulations on six years Blogging! I sure hope there will be Many Many Many times six more blog years!!! I cannot imagine my Life without the BiWuBeary family, both here and there, and love to keep up to speed on all the goings on on that side of the Ocean!
The gifts from Ilona are Treasures indeed and nobody is as Deserving of such wonderful gifts as Birgit who we all know is such a very generous gift giver herself!!! :):):) That Dragon plant is truly Stunning! I can't wait to see it in Gertie's Garden! (Perhaps close to the pond where he/she? can converse with the Pond Dragon...!)
And beyond all these other delights, it was such fun to see the "sights" that Birgit was able to travel and see... especially the boy in the alley (Lol!)!! :)
And seeing you Bearys in the garden is Always a delight, and what better time than when the fruit trees are blooming? It brings a Big smile to my face! Our fruit trees are a little behind schedule over here now because of the gloomy weather we had last week.... they are just beginning to open the blossoms!
And Fluby, please tell Birgit Not to Worry about the troubles of building the "Orchid" kit.... it is a fairly simple kit, and I am sure there are a lot of us who can help her with translations if she gets confused! The one thing we can't help her with is the splinters (slivers) she might get from the wood... :( so tell her to be careful when she punches out all those pieces!!!!

:DDD

Glückwunsch auch zu Ilonas wunderschönem Paket! Der Kürbis mit Hirninnerei ist klasse! :)

Liebe Grüsse,
